You are invited to the Minnesota Reconciling Congregations’ Spring Gathering at Eden Prairie UMC on Saturday, April 5th from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Now is the time to promote the gathering and to invite others to attend! The theme is “We’re Not Done Yet!”

Eden Prairie UMC is located at 15050 Scenic Heights Road in Eden Prairie.

Gather at 11:30.

Potluck lunch at noon. Bring a dish to share. Dishes and beverages will be provided.

The Program will be in two parts. Rev. Carol Zaagsma will discuss Regionalization and other proposed Constitutional Amendments that will be presented at the Minnesota Annual Conference in June. Becky Boland will be presenting on Next Steps to Take Toward Inclusiveness.

There will be a free-will offering that will be shared between Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) and MN Reconciling Congregations.

Tami Zvolena will be at The Gathering on April 5, where she will share her “Magnet Ministry”: A Beacon of Hope for Minnesota’s LGBTQIA+ Community. These custom wooden magnets will be available for sale at her table ($5 each).
The “Magnet Ministry” started with a simple yet powerful design: a wooden cutout of Minnesota layered with the colors of the Progress Pride flag. Logan & Tami Zvolena was asked to create something from their laser cutting business, to donate to the Twin Cities Reclaim! Organization and their 2025 “Celebrate the Love” Gala. What began as a simple silent auction donation, has grown into something much bigger—a symbol of solidarity, love, and affirmation for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies.
Each magnet is handcrafted, hand-colored, and infused with the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and supported. As pushbacks continue to challenge LGBTQIA+ individuals, these magnets serve as a small but mighty statement of resistance and hope.
At Lake Harriet UMC, Pastor Karen Bruins recognized the urgent need for reassurance and tangible support. She purchased a handful of magnets to have on hand, ready to give to those feeling scared and uncertain. Her goal was clear: to show her staff and congregation that Lake Harriet UMC, guided by its mission of “Walking together the words and ways of Jesus,” stands unwaveringly with the LGBTQIA+ community—every single day. And thus, was born the “Magnet Ministry.”
